Resource Cards
As you move around the board, you can collect resource cards to aid you within the game.
These can help defend you against event cards, such as the example above, or be taken to one of the two temples to earn a favour token from the gods.
It would be a good strategy to stock up on resource cards, as you never know what might happen in Pompeii.
Event Cards
Event cards are picked up on specific squares on the board. They can bring both positive and negative consequences to the players, and some more dangerous ones can completely disrupt the game.

Favour Tokens
At the Temple of Isis and the Temple of Jupiter you can exchange resource cards for favour tokens. Ultimately, the winner of the game will have the most favour tokens, so they are worth visiting the temple for.
